Food and Wine

Croatia is home to exquisite food and wine. Its cuisine is a blend of Mediterranean style dishes found in coastal regions to Austro-Hungarian style dishes found in continental regions of Croatia. Seafood is delivered daily by local fishermen. Fruit and vegetables are mostly organic and sourced locally. Olive oil and fine Croatian wine (vino) complement most meals.

Wine has a history dating back to Ancient Greek settlers and wine production origins some 2500 years ago on the southern Dalmatian islands of Visd, Hvar and Korcula. The majority of Croatian wine is white, with the remainder being red and small percentage is rose.

Sampling Croatian food and wine for yourself is highly recommended. Presented below are a selection of restaurants and wine bars recommended by Beautiful Croatia for you to enjoy.
